These clients are mainly in the area of the natural resources industries and municipalities. 

We are expanding and we have a position as Electronics Engineering Technician that we need to add immediately to our current dynamic team.  The Electronics Engineering Technician will be responsible for providing technical support and services in the design, development, testing, production and operation of electronic equipment and systems with a team of engineers and technicians.  In addition, he will be participating to the electrical installation in manufacturing plants in determining the best ways to hook the electrical and electronic equipment by updating design plans as produced.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Electronics Engineering Technician performs the following responsibilities:

  • Create drawings of various types of equipment and electronic systems with AutoCAD
  • Participate in the design, development and testing of power equipment and systems, industrial process control systems, micro-electronic systems and circuits.
  • Participate in the installation, commissioning, and operation of electronic equipment and systems
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions
  • Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies and systems
  • Assist in inspection, testing, adjusting and evaluation of incoming electronic components and assemblies to ensure conformance with product specifications and tolerances
  • Conduct life tests (burn-ins) on assemblies and record and analyze results
  • Assist in building and testing prototypes to specifications
  • Collect and compile operational data and write estimates, schedules, budgets, specifications and reports.
  • Act as liaison between suppliers and equipment sales representatives.
  • Perform other related tasks as required by his immediate supervisor.

 REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Completion of a two- or three-year college program in electronics engineering technology, computer engineering technology, telecommunications technology
  • Must possess training in electronic circuit, AutoCAD, industrial electricity, automation and controls
  • 2 years experience in a similar position
  • Experience with Visual Basic, SWL, Access and/or in technical control.
  • Good knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Access
  • Any experience with the Keizen, Six Sigma, SMTP and APICS would be an asset.
  • Ability to understand the client’s business process
  • Ability to work autonomously and understand the critical tests required to ensure that the impacts of the software are tested.
