These clients are mainly in the area of the natural resources industries and municipalities. 

We currently have a position that we need to add immediately to our current dynamic team for an IT Programmer.  In our Company, the IT Programmer designs, analyses, writes, modifies, integrates and tests computer code for software applications, data processing applications, industrial software and communications software.   This person designs and programs the solutions that our customers depend on and is the link between the equipment and the users.  The incumbent works on progressively complex projects in a real production environment for many of our clients. 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The IT Programmer performs the following responsibilities:

• Design applicable and useable designs for users while respecting the departmental or company’s business process;
• Participate in development and analysis;
• Assist in the development of logical and physical specifications ;
• Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements ;
• Research and evaluate a variety of software products;
• Identify and communicate technical problems, processes and solutions ;
• Manage software design and development using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and the .NET Framework;
• Manage database design, development and administration using Microsoft SQL Server;
• Write, modify, integrate and test software code ;
• Maintain existing computer programs by making modifications as required ;
• Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software ;
• Perform development and maintenance on changing (up to date) applications/technologies;
• Perform on-site solution installation, testing and training document applications;

REQUIREMENTS: 

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or in another discipline with a significant programming component and in electrical engineering
• Minimun of 1 or 2 years experience in computer programming and developmentusing Microsoft Visual Studio.NET and the .NET Framework
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 and database design
• Experience with XAML and Microsoft Silverlight
• Experience with Microsoft Expression Blend 3 And Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
• Knowledge in revision control system like SubVersion
• Ability to work autonomously and understand the critical tests required to ensure that the impacts of the software are tested.
